2022 TAG Heuer

2022 New TAG Heuer Aquaracer Collection

At the forefront of the Swiss watch industry since its founding in 1860, TAG Heuer soared in the 20th century as a manufacturer of special chronographs designed for motorsports. But it was in 1985 that the TAG Heuer Group acquired TAG Heuer and placed it at the top of the dive watch industry. The refreshed TAG Heuer easily kept pace with the leaders of the Swiss replica watch industry, launching colorful, forward-thinking dive watches that captured the public’s attention.
While the TAG Heuer Competitor 300 has all the standard features of a professional-grade dive watch, these features are uniquely designed and elegantly executed, and their build quality is often thousands of dollars higher. For these reasons, we are pleased to offer this exquisite sports diver.
One fairly obvious difference between the Aquaracer Pro 300 and a standard dive watch is the magnifying lens located above the date window at six o’clock. Date and lenses located at three o’clock are ubiquitous in dive watches, so hats off to TAG Heuer for finding a simple, elegant and symmetrical way to get away with this ubiquity. Another special approach is the 12-sided bezel.
Once again, the dodecagonal shape appears on polished steel hour markers that are filled with bright Super LumiNova. look closely and you will see that the steel frame of these markers is beveled and highly polished, which is commensurate with the impeccable finishing of the entire watch. These markers are mounted on what TAG calls a “sunburst” brushed dial, where horizontal engraving adds to the vibrancy of the movement. We also really like the fine chapter ring, which is pleasantly unobtrusive but highly visible. The yellow accents give it a thumbs up.
All of these wonderful bevels and dodecagons echo the stainless steel case, which features a brushed finish and polished beveled edges to form one of the most particular dive watch cases on the market today. At 43mm wide, this fake watch is substantial, but the Calibre 5 inside allows TAG to keep the case thick, while the well-integrated lugs keep the case from dangling over the wrist. All in all, this is a very stylish and comfortable full-size diver.
While this watch is a tribute to earlier models, it is a far cry from a vintage replica. The case is titanium, a modern alloy with a lightweight and warm color. The titanium provides a nice soft frame for the “aged” luminescence on the matte black dial. And the case itself is a lovely and intricate modern design with a brushed finish and polished beveled edges to emphasize its distinctive angles.
The shape of the case is reflected in the 12-sided bezel, and we love that TAG Heuer designers have decorated these 12-sided bezels with beautiful knurling for a good grip. The bezel is aluminum with white printing, a move with the times that sets this model apart from the standard Aquaracers. Looking further down the dial, we see the angularity once again reflected in the hour markers, here in polished stainless steel and filled with the aforementioned beige luminescence that mimics the old tritium found on the original 844. The hands are similar, providing excellent readability in all light conditions.
